Exterior painting
Repaint façades, walls and trim to stand up to sun and salt.
Overview
A façade that holds its colour
On an island with strong sun all year, trade winds that carry salt and short, heavy showers, exterior paint takes more punishment than almost anywhere. Colour fades, chalks and peels, and once water gets behind the coat the damage speeds up. A good exterior repaint is mostly preparation: clean, repair, prime, then a coating made for the conditions.
Scope
What's included
Every quote is itemised: you see each part of the job as its own line before anything starts.
- Pressure washing to remove salt, dust and chalking
- Scraping of loose paint and repair of hairline cracks and small damage
- Primer suited to concrete, stucco or previously painted surfaces
- Two finish coats of exterior paint made for UV and salt air
- Trim, railings, gates and doors on request
- Clean-up of the site and a final walk-around
Process
How the job runs
Inspection
We check the walls for chalking, moisture, cracks and loose paint, and agree on colours.
Preparation
Washing, scraping, repairs and primer. This is where most of the life of the paint is decided.
Painting
Finish coats side by side, planned around the weather and the people using the building.
Hand-over
A walk-around with you, touch-ups included, before the job is closed.
Warranty and limits
Good to know
- Weather
- Paint needs a dry surface. If rain is coming, we move a day rather than paint over damp walls.
- Warranty
- Up to 6 months on the finish we apply, for cosmetic issues such as peeling, flaking or blistering. It never covers the structure underneath.
- Structural cracks
- Hairline cracks are filled as part of the prep. Cracks that point to movement in the structure are assessed and referred to a specialist, never priced as cosmetic work.
