Services

Waterproofing

Stop water getting in at roofs, balconies and walls.

Overview

Keep the rain on the outside

Rain in Aruba is rare but hard, and it finds every weak spot: a balcony slab, a parapet, a wall joint, the base of an exterior wall. Water that gets in causes peeling paint, stains and, left alone, damage to the concrete itself. Waterproofing seals those points with membranes and coatings that stay flexible as the building heats up and cools down.

Scope

What's included

Every quote is itemised: you see each part of the job as its own line before anything starts.

  • Finding where water gets in: stains, damp spots and run-off paths
  • Cleaning and repair of the base at the problem areas
  • Sealing of joints, cracks and pipe penetrations
  • Liquid waterproofing membrane on balconies, terraces and parapets
  • Water-repellent treatment for exterior walls where suitable
  • A finish coat over the membrane where it shows

Process

How the job runs

  1. Inspection

We trace the water: where it shows, where it comes from, and what has been tried before.

  2. Preparation

Problem areas are opened up, cleaned, repaired and dried.

  3. Sealing

Joints are sealed and the membrane goes on in the layers the system requires.

  4. Hand-over

We go over every treated area with you; photos of each layer are in My CJR.

Warranty and limits

Good to know

Drying time
A membrane needs a dry base. After heavy rain, we wait before sealing.
Structural cracks
Hairline cracks are filled as part of the prep. Cracks that point to movement in the structure are assessed and referred to a specialist, never priced as cosmetic work.
