Services

Wood coating

Protect doors, decks, pergolas and trim with stain, oil or varnish.

Overview

Wood that stays warm, not grey

Unprotected wood in Aruba greys, dries out and splits within a few seasons: UV breaks down the surface and salt air speeds it up. The right coating (a penetrating oil, a stain or a varnish with UV protection) keeps the grain visible and the wood sealed. It needs a clean, sanded surface and fresh coats on a regular rhythm.

Scope

What's included

Every quote is itemised: you see each part of the job as its own line before anything starts.

  • Cleaning and light sanding of the surface
  • Filling of small cracks and nail holes
  • Choice of finish: oil, stain or varnish, matt to gloss
  • Two or more coats, sanded between coats where the finish needs it
  • Doors, windows, decks, pergolas, fences and trim

Process

How the job runs

  1. Inspection

We check the wood for rot, old finishes and moisture, and recommend a finish.

  2. Preparation

Cleaning and sanding; badly weathered wood gets a full sanding first.

  3. Coating

Coats go on in the order the product needs, with drying time between them.

  4. Hand-over

A final look together, with advice on when the next coat is due.

Warranty and limits

Good to know

Rot
Soft or rotten wood is not coated over. We show it to you, and it is replaced or referred before we finish.
Warranty
Up to 6 months on the finish we apply, for cosmetic issues such as peeling, flaking or blistering. It never covers the structure underneath.
